AD ALERE

The title of this solo exhibition by the Roman artist stems from a precise etymology: “AD ALERE” is the Latin root of “adolescence” and literally means “that which is being nourished.” This origin carries within it the conceptual core of the entire project.

Capanna’s research emerges from an investigation into emptiness in physics, art, and philosophy, spanning from the Aristotelian concept of horror vacui to Eastern notions of emptiness as a cyclical principle of life.
