ART COLORS DESIGN

From 18 October to 8 November 2026

NUMM Foundation for Contemporary Arts, in collaboration with Saporiti Italia, presents ART COLORS DESIGN, a new exhibition exploring the encounter between art and design.

Opening · Sunday 18 October · 11 am

At the opening, held in the rooms of Palazzo Radicati, the Miamina will be presented by Raffaele Saporiti, President of Saporiti Italia, alongside other leading figures from the worlds of art and design.

At the heart of the exhibition is the Miamina, the iconic armchair designed by Alberto Salvati and Ambrogio Tresoldifor Saporiti Italia: a reinterpretation of the historic Tripolina chair, whose fabric seat becomes a canvas for artistic and graphic experimentation. The project embodies the relationship between art and design that has shaped Saporiti Italia’s creative exploration throughout its history, giving the object not only a function, but also symbolic significance and an identity of its own.

Palazzo Radicati will showcase some of the most significant interpretations created over the years: from the vibrant version designed in 1983 by Ottavio and Rosita Missoni, to Bob Noorda’s design for the Everest-K2-CNR laboratory in Nepal, Fosca Milano’s Twenty Cities, and versions developed through Saporiti Italia’s collaborations with international art and design institutions and schools.

A design object thus becomes a creative space, bringing together design, colour and artistic expression. Through different interpretations, marks and visions, the Miamina transcends its functional role, becoming a medium through which to explore the relationship between design and artistic research. ART COLORS DESIGN brings this dialogue into the rooms of Palazzo Radicati, showing how different disciplines can come together to create new forms of expression.
