Stefano Bolcato
Stefano Bolcato lives and works in Rome. His artistic training, rooted in academic tradition, took place in the 1990s at the Scuola delle Arti Ornamentali S. Giacomo in Rome and at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma, where he studied classical themes of figuration—landscapes, still lifes, interiors, and figures—through techniques such as drawing, painting, and plastic modeling.
In 2006, he began using Lego parts as figurative subjects in his compositions. At first, he focused on social themes such as domestic violence, economic crisis, health and safety in the workplace, peacekeeping missions, terrorism, and more. Since 2014, art history has become his main source of inspiration. Important works by great masters of the past are revisited and reinterpreted in a contemporary key, with the distinctive ability to reach a very broad and diverse audience.
