La memoria si rivela
NUMM Contemporary Art presents a dual exhibition bringing together the artistic explorations of Marta Farrace and Marianna Cappelli, two distinct voices united by a profound sensitivity to memory, childhood, and inner perception.
The show features two paths that, though expressed through different media—photography for Cappelli and painting combined with fabrics and materials for Farrace—intersect in their reflection on time, fragility, and the boundary between the visible and the invisible.
Marianna Cappelli (Naples) presents Princesses in the Tower, created with writer Antonella Ossorio. Ossorio’s poems accompany Cappelli’s photographs, evoking childhood as a space suspended between desire and confinement, protection and the longing for freedom. The images become “narrative mirrors,” where poetic voice offers an intimate counterpoint.
Marta Farrace (Rome) presents works that weave painting, photography, and fabric, accompanied by poems from Filippo Spanu. Here, poetry extends the artwork, opening new layers of meaning as verses dialogue with stitched and overlapping fragments, expressing a memory both personal and universal.
The conversation between the two artists shows how art can explore both intimate and social narratives, preserving fragility while offering poetic visions of the present. In this exhibition, poetry is not a frame but substance: a voice inhabiting the silences of images, a breath accompanying colors and textures, memory emerging as an echo, inviting viewers to see, read, and feel.
